Show Details
As for cost, the Club rental is within the price we previously mentioned for a venue ($50 per person); in addition, the Club also offers wine for the reception ($20 per person), which would bring the total to $70 each. For this, you can send $35 to each of us by Venmo to @stef_sb and @stephaniedrawdy.
Also, please have your work at the Salmagundi Club between 3pm-5pm on 31 March and please have your work ready to hang!
Promotion for "Portraits As Still Lives"
Last but not least, we encourage everyone to promote this show as much as possible! The "Portraits As Still Lives" proposal is included below for those who would like to share it when describing the show.
Below are a few ways we also hope to encourage attendance:
The Salmagundi Club will be advertising the show on its website and through an email announcement to its members, some of whom are expected to be at the Club on the evening of the 31st for its member happy hour.
We also plan to promote the show by hosting an artists' talk on 11 March at 1pm EST during a 2ND Saturday Zoom call (link below) that will be recorded and published on Warfare of Art and Law podcast the weekend before the show. You are invited to join this call to share about your work. Please feel free to share the link and invite others to the call!
Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon!
All best wishes,
Stefania & Stephanie
"Portraits As Still Lives" Proposal
"Portraits as Still Lives" - this group show confronts the viewer with the visual representation of a head as an object. The works in this collection consider the transience of life and the powerful imagery of a head. We have explored the head as a standalone object. Whether it is severed as an offering and symbol of devotion, attached to a body yet emotionally disconnected, or simply existing - we are interested in the psychological impact of a portrait.
P.S.: "Polycephalic Orchestra"
As a reminder, please let us know if you're interested in participating in the "Polycephalic Orchestra" group show and, if so, please send two images as soon as possible so that we can submit our application to the curation committee at what we hope will be our next amazing group show venue!
